All lessons and consultations take place at my private home studio In Charlotte, NC, less than 10 minutes from the University area. The exact address and arrival instructions will be provided after your booking is confirmed.
Life happens! Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours notice or missed without notice are subject to partial or full forfeiture of the session or consultation fee.

No. A sewing machine is available for use during every lesson at no addiitional cost. If you already own a machine, you are welcomed to bring it so ou can become more comfortable using your own!
A Beginner Sewing Lesson is a single 1.5 hour session designed to introduce you to your sewing machine, sewing fundamentals, and a beginner projects. This is à la carte so feel free to book as needed.
Sew Dope Foundations is our signature 2 hour multi-session program (available in 4-session or 8-session tracks) for individuals who want structured development. Think of the Beginner Lesson as your introduction, and Sew Dope Foundations as where you truly build your craft.
The 4-session Studio Track is perfect for students who want to build a strong sewing foundation while completing a guided design project.
The 8-session Studio Track is designed for students who want to go deeper into garment construction, fit, finishing techniques, and creative problem-solving while developing greater independence and confidence at the sewing machine.
Both programs follow the same philosophy, build the craft, create with culture, but the 8-session track provides more time to refine your skills and explore more advanced techniques.
After purchasing your lesson or Foundations program, you’ll receive an email with a scheduling link to choose your appointment date(s). Every session builds on the last, and you’ll receive personalized instruction, guidance, and resources to help you continue practicing between lessons. Our goal isn’t just to teach you how to sew, it’s to help you develop the confidence and foundation to keep creating long after class ends.
Every alteration begins with a $10 consultation. During your appointment, we’ll evaluate your garment, discuss your goals, take any necessary measurements, and provide a personalized quote before any work begins. If you choose to move forward with your alteration, your consultation fee will be applied toward the total cost of your service.
We offer a wide range of alteration services, including hemming, waist adjustments, sleeve shortening, zipper replacements, repairs, denim alterations, and more. We also offer select creative services such as garment reconstruction, upcycling, and custom modifications. If you’re unsure whether your project can be accommodated, book a consultation and we’ll discuss the best approach.
Because every garment and project is unique, pricing is determined during your consultation. You can refer to the pricing ranges listed on the alteration’s product photo but factors such as garment construction, fabric type, and the complexity of the requested alterations all play a role in your personalized quote.
Turnaround times vary depending on the complexity of the project and our current workload. During your consultation, you’ll receive an estimated completion date. If you have a deadline for an event or special occasion, please let us know when booking.
Absolutely! Whether it’s a favorite pair of jeans, a wedding guest dress, a vintage find, or a brand-new purchase that needs a better fit, we’re happy to help tailor your garment to fit you and your style.

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment are eligible for a full refund.
For Sew Dope Foundations programs, refunds are available up until your first scheduled session. Once your first session has been completed, your program officially begins and is no longer eligible for a refund.
